Overview

When you first open BeatOps, a setup wizard guides you through the initial configuration. This guide walks you through each step so you know what to expect.

Prerequisites

  • BeatOps installed on your computer
  • Google Chrome
  • YouTube account
  • BeatStars account (optional)
  • SoundCloud account (optional)

Setup Wizard

  1. Select your beat folder
Choose the folder where you store your beats. BeatOps expects one subfolder per beat, containing your MP3 and/or WAV file. Stem files can be included in the same folder and will be detected automatically.
  2. Configure filename parsing
Tell BeatOps how your filenames are structured so it can automatically extract the beat title and reference artists. For example, if your files are named "Drake x Travis Scott - Midnight.mp3", BeatOps can parse "Drake x Travis Scott" as artists and "Midnight" as the title.
  3. Set up your YouTube API credentials
To upload to YouTube, you need your own API credentials. The wizard links to our YouTube API Setup Guide with step-by-step instructions. Once created, paste your Client ID and Client Secret into BeatOps.
  4. Connect your platform accounts
Log in to the platforms you want to upload to: YouTube via OAuth, BeatStars via login, SoundCloud via OAuth. You can skip platforms and add them later in Settings.

Start Uploading

After completing the setup wizard, you're ready to upload. You have two options:

Option A: Create templates first

Set up reusable templates for your uploads:

  • Title templates (e.g., "{{ artist }} Type Beat - {{ title }}")
  • YouTube descriptions with your links and tags
  • Thumbnail styles and default settings
  • Upload schedules

Templates auto-fill for every beat you add, saving time on repetitive work.

Option B: Upload directly

Start uploading right away with the default templates. You can always customize them later in Settings.

The Upload Process

Whether you use templates or not, the upload flow works the same:

  1. Add a beat
Select a beat from your folder. BeatOps analyzes the audio to detect BPM, key, mood, and genre, and extracts metadata from your filename.
  2. Generate thumbnails and video
Choose your thumbnail source: upload a ready-made thumbnail, upload raw images to process, or select images via Google Images. BeatOps creates all formats (Square, Canvas, Vertical) and generates videos for each platform.
  3. Review and upload
Preview your content and make any adjustments. Select your platforms (YouTube, YouTube Shorts, BeatStars, SoundCloud), optionally schedule for later, and upload. You'll get direct links to each platform when complete.

Next Steps

Once you've uploaded your first beat:

  • Try batch processing to upload multiple beats at once
  • Enable auto-approve to skip the review step for trusted templates
