Stems

Overview

Stems are the individual instrument tracks that make up your beat (drums, melody, bass, etc.). BeatOps detects stems automatically so they can be included with your BeatStars uploads.

Option 1: Stems Subfolder (Recommended)

Create a folder named stems inside your beat folder and place all stem files inside it:

my-beat/
  My Beat.mp3
  My Beat.wav
  stems/
    drums.wav
    melody.wav
    bass.wav
    808.wav

This is the recommended approach because it keeps your beat folder organized and makes it clear which files are stems.

Option 2: Filename Detection

Alternatively, include "stems" in the filename. Any supported file with "stems" in its name will be detected as a stem file:

• my-beat-stems.zip
• stems-my-beat.wav

Supported Formats

• .wav - Individual stem tracks
• .zip - Compressed archive containing multiple stems
