A template set is your release recipe. It says where a beat goes, what the titles and descriptions look like, and how the images and videos look. Pick a set for a beat and everything else follows.

What's in a Template Set?

Part What it decides
Upload to Which platforms a beat goes to: YouTube, YouTube Shorts, BeatStars and SoundCloud
Upload scheduling Per platform: publish right away, or schedule on the days and time you choose
YouTube playlists The playlist for your main videos and the playlist for your Shorts
Default beat info A beat info template with default reference artists, genres and moods
Metadata templates Title, description and tag templates for each platform
Image templates The thumbnail and cover style for canvas (16:9), square (1:1) and vertical (9:16)
Video templates How the video moves in each format, or a still thumbnail
Image search template What BeatOps searches for when it finds a photo for your artwork

The templates themselves live on the Templates page. A set only points to them, so one template can be part of many sets. Change the template and every set that uses it changes too.

How to Use

  1. Make your own set
Go to Templates and open Template Sets. The built-in Default Template Set is read-only, so copy it and edit the copy.
  2. Make it your default
Every new beat you add gets your default set automatically.
  3. Switch sets per beat
Pick another set on the beat page, or in the review screen before you process and upload.
  4. Change single fields per beat
On the beat page you can change one thing for one beat, like the platforms, the schedule, a playlist, a title template or the image template. The set stays the same for your other beats.

Switching Sets on a Beat

When you switch a beat to another set and the beat has changes of its own, BeatOps asks what to do with them:

  • Keep my customizations: the beat gets the new set, and the fields you changed for this beat stay as they are.
  • Start fresh with new template set: the changes for this beat are cleared, and the beat follows the new set completely.

A beat without any set gets no titles, descriptions or templates. That is why BeatOps always gives a beat a set, and uses your default set when you have not picked one.

Ideas for Sets

  • One set per sound: a dark trap set with the Rage video look and moody thumbnails, and a melodic set with Vinyl and clean visuals.
  • One set per destination: a "YouTube only" set for type beats you test first, and a "Full release" set that also goes to BeatStars and SoundCloud.
  • One set per artist lane: default reference artists and a search template that fit that lane, so the titles and photos are right from the start.
  • Scheduled drops: a set that schedules YouTube for Friday at 18:00, so you can prepare beats early and release on a fixed day.
