SampQOL OS

A free mod for the MPC Sample. The goal: more quality of life, with a workflow that is fast, simple and intuitive. It runs from the SD card and does not flash the device.

Before you start

This is a beta. Back up your projects first. When a project does not load correctly, the MPC can delete samples that only SampQOL OS uses. The project safety net keeps a copy, but a backup is always safer.

Tested only with MPC Sample firmware 1.3.0. MPC One, Live and X are not tested yet. Do not update the MPC firmware: SampQOL OS will probably not work on a newer version.

Install in 3 steps

  1. Check the MPC. Hold SHIFT and push PAD 8 (MIDI CONFIG). The top right of the display must show v1.3.0.
  2. Copy. Unzip the download. Drag the folder autorun onto a microSD card (exFAT). Eject the card.
  3. Start. Set the MPC off, put the card in, set it on. The display asks "Start SampQOL OS?". Select Start.

The mod does not flash the MPC. It runs from the card and only lives in memory. Select Cancel at start-up, or start without the card, and the MPC is stock. To stop for good, delete the autorun folder from the card.
