What BeatOps Does With The Connection

SoundCloud's API does not offer fine-grained permissions, so the connection technically grants broad account access. BeatOps only ever makes two kinds of requests:

Upload tracks

Why needed: This is the core functionality: BeatOps uploads the beats you choose to your own SoundCloud profile, with the title, description, artwork and tags from your templates. Uploads only happen when you start them.

Read your profile name

Why needed: BeatOps reads your username once to show which account is connected ("Connected as ...") and to verify the connection is working.

What BeatOps Will Not Do

Even though the connection would technically allow more, BeatOps will not:

  • Delete or edit your existing tracks
  • Post comments or messages
  • Like or repost tracks
  • Follow or unfollow anyone
  • Change your profile or account settings
  • Read your private messages or listening history
  • Create or modify playlists

In short: BeatOps uploads beats for you. That's it.

Revoking Access

You can disconnect at any time via Settings > SoundCloud > Disconnect in BeatOps, or revoke the connection from SoundCloud's side under Settings > Connections on soundcloud.com.
